So it has been a LONGGGG time it feels since I've been in communication with the world. Wedding craziness has come and gone, and now it is "nesting" mayhem here at the Forney household. Yes, that is correct, I am officially a Forney. I changed my name 2 days ago... It was a little surreal signing a different last name, and it hasn't "latched" on quite yet. On the phone with a few different people I said in response to hello, "Hi this is Maryn Hill"...and realized that is no longer a true statement. AHHH! I am glad for this new stage of life and am learning to let go of past things and move forward in this new married-state.
Now, I have been working on putting our 2 bedroom apartment together. I have realized the past 2 weeks that my strength is NOT in organizing and putting things away - but rather decorating once things already have a home. I keep staring at the same bedroom that has our stuff piled up EVERYWHERE. I glance at it for a few minutes, pick something up here, put it down there, shove something across the room, stand back and feel like no progress was made, and then I take a break by doing laundry or cleaning a bathroom...and yet the room continues to stay crowded.
Its been a while since I've updated people on my current dealings! I am no longer on staff with the Navs. Its a strange thing to say I am currently unemployed. My future plans as of this moment (or should I say our future plans?) are for me to settle in (which means that every item in our home finds a place to reside), I accomplish all my new name-changing things (passport, driver's license, banks, credit cards, etc), and then I begin the job-hunt, whatever that might entail.
It has been wonderful cooking for Nate each night. That's crazy that I'm saying that because for those of you who know me you know that cooking has yet to be my fortay. However, in the last 2 weeks I have made things like lemon chicken pasta toss with capers, homemade pizza, ceaser-crusted salmon with green beans, chicken with sweet potato fries, and the list goes on! I actually enjoy cooking and am thankful I have time to actually sit and plan a menu, grocery shop and cook...all things that rarely happened the past 2 years for me!
Currently Nate is on the computer trying to find a doctor for us to go to...reading reviews and such of what people have to say about different practices. Its hard not knowing many people here, or else we'd ask people's suggestions of good doctors!
I'd like to plan on blogging more - and also including updates on "us" and not just me. So we'll see how that goes! This weekend Nate's mom is going to come by for a few hours on Saturday which will be fun.
One major upcoming thing we're excited about is our trip to Colorado at Christmas tbimeh vjnnmhuhijinibubvcrdrcvhuhnininni bugyftdr

hahaha ok so all that gibberish is my husband trying to get me to stop blogging...I must go now. We need to discuss doctor things and I shouldn't be multitasking by blogging...haha

Glad to have you back Mrs. Forney! Say "hi" to the Mr. for us!
i'm horrible at menu planning! absolutely stink at it! what's your system? do you just find recipes that look good and then buy all the stuff for them? do you go with what's on sale? please. do tell.
and on the doctor front, not that you asked, but i'd recommend finding a christian one if at all possible. we've noticed a world of difference just in the attitudes of christian doctors, so now we try to look for a christian whenever we choose a doctor or dentist.
I'm so glad you are enjoying cooking! I wish I was closing so I could help you organize because I LOVE doing that! :)
So glad you updated your blog... I've been [impatiently] waiting!

I must agree with Katie I have been waiting some what impatiently myself. Oh the responsibilities of having a blog, your impatient readers.
I will say on the cooking topic if you have not yet found all recipies.com I highly recommend it. I have also enjoyed realsimple.com recipes.
I too love that you are back to blogging! Hope you enjoy your "nesting" time and cooking is so much more fun when you finally have your own kitchen and all of the tools to make everything!
