The past couple of weeks it has snowed SO MUCH. It seriously seems like there is snow for 3 days in a row, then we might have an off day, and then there will be more snow. Sometimes its heavy snow that piles up and other times its just snow that flurries around. In any case, it has been FRIGID but pretty with white everywhere. Myself, and a lot of the girls I meet with have already been mentioning how we're ready to see grass again with flowers and SUN. Still a few more months...gotta hang in there. = )
This weekend we have the MACC - Mid Atlantic Collegiate Conference. Its a weekend conference where there will be a speaker who gives talks about God, there will be worship, meals, and some free time. I am really looking forward to it because it was fun last year and I think it will be fun again this year. There will be a lot of students from different schools in the region. Its in Northbay, MD, so about a 2.5 hour drive from where I live. We'll leave tomorrow!
A highlight of my past couple weeks has been getting to catch up with all the girls I meet with. It has been wonderful! God really is opening their eyes to Him more and more. They have questions and are hungry to grow and learn, and it is a joy to meet with them. I now have 9 girls that I meet with - so it keeps me SUPER busy and I have to be on top of my schedule to make sure everything gets done and fits well in each week. Its a blessing to be able to meet with these girls.
We had our traditional "Bowling in Bellefonte". (Bellefonte is a small town 10 min. east of here). After our Friday Nav Night we rent out the bowling alley and have all the students go bowling. This time we had a "staff" lane - here's a photo of us Nav Staffers bowling together. I miserably set the lowest score of 50. Dave set the highest of 175. Quite the contrast...
We also began a staff Bible study with Dave Bowman, one of our campus directors. We are studying our Identity in Christ and it has been BLOWING my mind. I'm learning a lot of things I have never known before, so its been great for me. In the study that I lead with the sophomore girls, we're studying Jonah currently. That has also been really interesting and we have had some really good discussions on things each Tuesday night.
The first Bible study night we had a dinner to kick things off, and 14 girls came! Here's a photo. It was a surprise to have that many girls. Its really cool because a lot of the girls that have been coming to study are starting to invite their friends, which is why we keep growing. Its so fun to see them reach out to their friends and roommates.
In two more weeks it will be my birthday weekend! (Feb 14th...same as my dad's birthday - shout out dad!) Nate and I plan on going to take a trip to New York to see his grandparents and get some time away together. I'm really looking forward to it. The last time I went to New York was last year in the fall when we got to play tennis with his grandpa so it will be good to go back!
I also have started swimming at the Y - basically me just doing some laps in whatever ways I can think to try swimming. Ha. I don't really know much about swimming and am not that good at it, but it has been a lot of fun to go and swim, especially when its blizzarding outside at night!
